The LOVE BUG!

Cricket is a stunning bitch with uncontainable enthusiasm. Her tail literally never stops wagging!

Cricket started her show career with a bang! Group win at her very first fun match  She followed that up with a Group II in Puppy Sweeps and a major win her first weekend out. She finished with 3 majors the day after her first birthday. She earned a placement in her futurity and made the cut at her first appearance at a national event. Cricket also showed in Junior Showmanship with Bailee Rodgers of Casper, WY and together they earned the designation of #1 Junior in 2016 & 2017.

Cricket gives me goosebumps watching her work in the field. She has range and intensity, style and enthusiasm. She completed her JH with no formal training and already has legs toward her JHA title.

Cricket already has 2 champion offspring, Ladybug finished @ 13 monthls old with 2 x 5 point majors and 2 x 4 point major wins, with 4 Best in Sweeps and 2 Best Opposite in Sweeps and picked up a 5 point GCH major her first time in the ring as a special. Brother Louie finished at 14 months with 2 x 5 point majors and a 4 point major, 2 Best in Sweeps and 2 Best Opposite in Sweeps wins. And from her 2nd litter, 8 month old Ozuna has 13 points including a 3 and a 5 point major.

We're excited to see what the next chapter brings!

It's difficult to put into words what this bitch does to me. I already HAD a  dog. I didn't NEED another one. I didn't DESERVE another one. I am already so blessed in that department. And yet inexplicably, here she is. I have only to catch her gaze and her tail starts wagging. A smile and her whole butt wiggles. One word and she can't hold back any longer!  I can't hold back any longer. She is -- pure JOY.

Cricket @ 16 months old.

Jonah first caught my eye at the Weimaraner Club Of America's National Specialty at Purina Farms in 2017. One of few who caught my attention and held it. He checks all the boxes for me conformation wise – moderate, balanced, nice angles, good substance, pretty head with generous ears and lip, a masculine but still elegant dog, and equally nice on the move as well. Furthermore, I love that he is biddable, has a wonderful temperament and has tremendous desire and drive in the field as well.

I asked Jonah's owner, Linda Garret to describe specific aspects of Jonah and here is what she had to say.

Temperament: Jonah is high drive. He gets that from his mother's side. His mom is Janet Boggs' Parker and Parker's sire was Lynn Frisby's Dual Champion Beetle. Parker has TONS of drive, which is why I told Janet from day one that if she ever bred Parker I wanted a puppy. Jonah is bold, confident, friendly and gets along well with other dogs.

Field/prey drive: Jonah is super birdy. He gets that from both his dad and his mom. Mary Ann (HallMar) has done a great job keeping the "birdiness" in her lines. Jonah finished his Senior Hunter in March and I will be running him in Master Hunter this season.

Biddability: Jonah has his dad's biddable nature. I purchased Jonah's dad, Strider, from Mary Ann and Bill back in 2004. Strider had a strong desire to please. I had never done hunting tests before getting Strider and ended up putting a Master Hunter on him. It was all him because I didn't have a clue what I was doing. He also did very well in competitive obedience.

Strengths: For me, Jonah is the ideal blend of a high drive dog who wants to please. His dad really wanted to please, but did not have as much drive as I wanted. I have also seen Weims with lots of drive, but they had their own agenda. That was not what I wanted either. The Strider x Parker mix has given me the best of both worlds.

10 Generation Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI): 8.88% Pedigree for this litter.

We employ a breeding strategey used by most long-term successful breeder, approximatelay 75% line breedings, 25% outcross. We do this to have a higher degree of predictablity in the outcome and to have a better chance at identifying traits to avoid. Outcrossing is a necessary piece of the puzzle as it helps us avoid "painting ourselves into a corner" by bringing some genetic diversity to the table. When we do outcross, we try to select dogs who are a similar phenotype as what we produce, meaning they have similar physical characteristics. Again, that helps us have a better degree of predictibilty in the puppies that result. Jonah is very much the type of dog we've been producing and we are thrilled not only with his achievements in other venues, but also the depth of achievements in his pedigree.
